Source-first Mufti authorship
Every word of Mufti Saad attributed content on halalrates originates from Mufti Saad himself, via live Q&A, recorded sessions, written rulings, or excerpts from his published works. AI is used for editorial formatting, retrieval, search, and metadata; AI is never used to generate substantive religious content under his name.
This rule applies to: Mufti rulings in the /ask archive, "The Mufti's Take" blocks, Mufti signature notes on provider profiles, the Mufti's Masterclass series, FAQ answers attributed to Mufti Saad, and glossary entries with his commentary.
What AI does
Formats raw transcripts and documents into web-ready structure, preserving substantive religious wording verbatim. Adds SEO metadata and schema.org JSON-LD. Suggests internal links to existing real content. Retrieves corpus matches for the Ask the Mufti search. Summarizes a Mufti ruling into a 1-line preview with attribution to the source. Copy-edits grammar and spelling without changing meaning.
What AI does not do
Generate a Mufti ruling from scratch. Paraphrase his religious reasoning in ways that may shift meaning. Ghostwrite "in his voice" for him to approve. Fabricate scholarly citations. Add his signature to AI-generated content. Bridge corpus gaps by extrapolating what he would say. Write FAQ answers attributed to him without source material.
Content tiers
Tier A is Mufti-authored. Mufti Saad wrote the content directly: pillar /learn pages on Sharia concepts, featured rulings in /ask, the Masterclass series, and the /the-mufti page itself.
Tier B is Mufti-reviewed and signed. Drafted by editorial team, reviewed and approved by Mufti Saad: category hub bodies, product reviews, FAQ answers, glossary entries with his definition, comparison page conclusions, opportunity Sharia structure descriptions.
Tier C is editorial. Written by editorial team, not Mufti-touched on substance: blog posts on market analysis, regulatory and tax content where Mufti expertise is not required, "How we make money" and similar transparency pages. Tier C content is signed by editorial team or named author, never Mufti Saad.
Corrections
If you find a factual error, citation gap, or apparent contradiction, email editorial@halalrates.com. Substantive corrections are dated and called out on the affected page; minor corrections (typos, link updates) are silent.
For Mufti-attributed content, corrections that touch substantive religious claims require Mufti Saad's review before publication. We do not silently revise his rulings.
Voice rules
We do not use em dashes anywhere in editorial content (a non-negotiable user preference, enforced at commit time). We do not write "consult an Islamic scholar" disclaimers because halalrates IS the scholar. We always cite AAOIFI, IFSB, or named scholars when referencing Islamic finance authority.
